Vinay Tiwari — SoftwareEngineer

Building the future, one line at a time.

Vinay Tiwari

Full-stack engineer. Web products, flying machines, and a startup run with AI agents.

a little about me

Code on earth,
eyes on the stars

I'm Vinay, a full-stack engineer who has spent the last three years turning ideas into fast, scalable web products, for clients and for myself.

Right now I'm building the donation and admin side of a live NGO platform as a developer at Denthinkers Foundation, starting my MCA at IIT Patna, and working on Locus — my own learning app — with AI agents as the team: I set the direction, they help me ship.

Away from the keyboard I build flying machines, tinker with IoT, edit videos and read far too much about space.

What I'm building
& chasing

Founder

Locus, built with a team of AI agents

An expert learning app for the subjects people usually cram for: physics, chemistry, maths, DSA and programming, across school and college syllabi. Short daily reps with streaks and mastery tracking, so consistency beats the night before the exam.

I decide what to build and why. AI agents act as my product lead, engineers and growth team, so one person can move with the speed of a small company.

Built by hand

Flying machines & IoT

A quadcopter multi-rotor drone and an F-117 Nighthawk, both designed and built from scratch. This is where code stops being forgiving: get it wrong and it doesn't throw an error, it falls out of the sky.

Postgraduate at IIT Patna

Starting a Master of Computer Applications, alongside a developer role on a live NGO platform.

DSA & system design

Sharpening problem solving on LeetCode and Codeforces, and learning to design systems that hold up at scale.

Obsessed with space

An astrophile at heart. Looking up is the best reminder of how much is still left to build.

Offline on-device AI assistantPersonal systems project

Project Charlie

An Android assistant that runs entirely on the phone. Speech-to-text and a quantized language model, both native, with zero cloud API calls — built in Kotlin over a C++ JNI bridge.

  • whisper.cpp for speech and a quantized Qwen2.5-0.5B through llama.cpp, fully offline
  • Sequential load → infer → unload pipeline holds peak memory at 650–800MB inside a 2GB budget
  • Native JNI bridge wiring two C++ inference engines into Jetpack Compose, with Room/SQLite for on-device memory
  • Kotlin
  • C++ (NDK/JNI)
  • whisper.cpp
  • llama.cpp
  • Jetpack Compose
  • Room/SQLite

NGO platform, CMS & donationsSoftware Developer (intern) · core contributor

Denthinkers

A live production platform for the Denthinkers Foundation, built with the team across backend and frontend — 15 API route handlers and 23 endpoints, with the donation module and admin authentication as my main pieces.

  • Donation module built on Razorpay order creation with server-side HMAC signature verification, so payments confirm on cryptographic proof rather than client-reported status
  • Cookie-based JWT admin auth (httpOnly, 7-day) behind middleware-gated routes, plus the CMS draft/publish workflow with slug-collision handling
  • ₹1.5L+ in verified donations processed to date, on a site sustaining 2.5K+ monthly visits
  • Next.js
  • React
  • TypeScript
  • MongoDB
  • Razorpay
  • JWT

Productivity system

NavyMind

A full-stack productivity system for time-bound work. Tasks run on backend-authoritative timers, so progress and time data stay accurate across sessions and devices.

  • Backend-authoritative timers for time-boxed tasks
  • APIs for scheduling, real-time tracking and analytics
  • Insights into where your time actually goes
  • Next.js
  • PostgreSQL
  • REST APIs
